Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat is a Halloween tradition started by the Rotary Club of Bloomingdale-Roselle two years ago. Each year it has grown in popularity. This year it has been moved to a new location to allow trick-or-treaters to drive through the displays instead of walking.  Businesses will decorate their car trunks in a thematic flair.  Trick-or-treaters will drive through the parking lot viewing each business? trunk, taking in their creativity and making their picks on the best decorated trunk.   At the end of the line, each car will be given one bag filled with information and promotional material from the participating businesses, and a treat bag for each child in the vehicle. 

Event Details:

• There is no charge this year for businesses to participate.
• Set up begins at 3:00 pm on October 30^th.
• Expecting 500 cars and 1,000 trick-or-treaters!
• Cars will be spaced two parking spaces between each trunk.
• Participates must wear masks at all times if they are outside their vehicle ? no exceptions!
• Trick-or-Treaters will remain in their cars at all times.
• There is no contact between participates/businesses and trick-or-treaters, no passing out information or candy from your trunk. There is no stopping to play games at trunks or interacting physically with trick-or-treaters.
• The event goes forward rain or shine ? be prepared.
• Judging of the best decorated trunk will be done on Facebook.  Pictures will be taken of each trunk and the trunk with the most likes will be announced via Social Media on Halloween. Once posted it is in your best interest to help promote the post and voting.
• Each participating business is asked to donate a bag of candy and/or novelty items (stickers, glow sticks, mini toys) to be dropped off at any of the following Bloomingdale locations by October 23^rd: Kencie Zmich, Edward Jones, 303 E. Army Trail Rd, ste 209,  Bloomingdale Chamber Offices ? 104 S. Bloomingdale Rd, or Bloomingdale Court ? 364 W. Army Trail Rd (corner by Fruitful Yield)
• 500 items for the business marketing bags are also to be delivered by October 23^rd to the same above locations. 
• Trick-or-Treaters will register on Event Bright to keep track of attendance.  The number will be capped at 1,000.
• The internet if filled with trunk decoration ideas. Be creative, you are being judged. Consider shopping for your decorations at the shops in Bloomingdale Court. The more creative trunks not only get the most votes, also get the most visibility.  Promote your business through the Halloween Spirit.

• Register with the Chamber by clicking the Register button above or Email Kencie Zmich by October 23^rd:  Kencie.Zmich@edwardjones.com, with your 1) contact name, 2) business name, and 3) phone number, preferably cell for the day-of contact. 
• Set up your car at 3:00 pm in the Bloomingdale Court parking lot on Friday, October 30^th.
• For safety reasons, all cars must be set up and ready by 4:15 pm. It will be too
  difficult to allow late arrivals in after the procession has started.
